Anancus

A highly derived tetralophodont gomphothere with a tall, elephant-like cranial vault. Ranging across Europe from the Late Miocene to the Early Pleistocene, it is renowned for spectacular, nearly straight upper tusks reaching 3.7 metres, while completely lacking lower tusks.
